Burner numbers
When a site wants a phone number you do not want on your real SIM, LoginScout can buy a short-lived burner line, show the SMS in your vault, and keep that trail next to the password.
Order a number, watch for the verification text, and copy the code without a second phone or a sketchy web form.
The number is useful only if you remember which login it belongs to. The library card is that memory.
Burner numbers are for your accounts, privacy, and testing. They are not for harassing people or bypassing bans you do not own.
Premium includes a monthly burner quota through 5sim. If a provider is out of stock for a country, we say so — numbers are not magic.
Step 1
Burner numbers are a Premium tool. Free vaults still store logins; SMS lines are metered because they cost real provider inventory.
Step 2
Pick the service you are verifying, buy a number, and keep the vault open while the SMS arrives.
Step 3
Copy the code, finish signup, and store the account so the phone number is not a screenshot lost in your camera roll.
A burner number is a disposable phone number used for one job — usually receiving an SMS code — then retired. People search for burner numbers when a game, marketplace, or app refuses to create an account without a phone, and they do not want that number on their personal SIM.
LoginScout buys short-lived lines through 5sim and shows the inbound SMS in the vault. You are not getting a full mobile plan, iMessage, or a number you can keep for years. You are getting a verification inbox for a signup you control.
Do not use burner numbers to evade law enforcement, spam, steal accounts, or create inventories of accounts to sell. Those uses violate our terms and usually the target site’s terms too.
Google Voice and a cheap prepaid SIM are long-lived identities. They are better when you need to receive password resets for months. A burner line is better when you need one SMS and you do not want that site in your real contacts.
The failure mode with random “receive SMS online” websites is the same as public temp mail: anyone else can open the same number, and you have no record of which Fortnite or Discord alt used it. Putting the SMS next to the vault card is the whole product.
Availability varies by country and by the service you are verifying. If 5sim is out of numbers, wait or use another method — we will not pretend inventory is infinite.
Create a free vault, then add temp mail and burner numbers when the library grows.
