How LoginScout works: create a vault, save logins, unlock on this device
LoginScout is a browser vault you unlock locally. You add accounts you own. You search them when you need them. Cloud sync, when you turn it on, moves encrypted data — not a readable password list.
How LoginScout works
Step 1
Create a vault
Pick a username and 4-digit PIN, or continue with Google. No card is required for the free plan.
Step 2
Add library cards
Platform, credentials, notes, tags, linked profiles, and optional authenticator secrets sit on one card.
Step 3
Find it later
Search and filters beat a spreadsheet. Favorites should be the few logins you open every week.
Step 4
Export a backup before you change devices
Import restores the encrypted package. You unlock with the same PIN. If you forget the PIN, there is no backdoor.
The loop
Unlock on the device in front of you
Username and PIN vaults derive a key in the browser. We cannot read a PIN-protected vault, and we cannot reset a forgotten PIN.
Google convenience mode is different
If you sign in with Google convenience mode, we store a vault key and release it only to your authenticated Google session on this site. That mode is not zero-knowledge. Privacy Policy has the exact wording.
Premium sync is ciphertext
Encrypted cloud sync, when enabled on a paid plan, stores the encrypted blob — not your unlocked password list.
You bring the accounts
Nothing here creates Steam, Epic, or Roblox accounts. The vault stores credentials you add.
Free vs Premium in this flow
Free: up to five accounts, local encryption, encrypted backups. Premium: up to 100 accounts, encrypted cloud sync, private temp mailbox, quick links, and burner numbers via 5sim with a monthly quota.

Questions people ask
- Where is my data stored?
- PIN vaults encrypt in the browser before storage. Optional cloud sync stores ciphertext. Google convenience mode stores a vault key for that Google session. See Privacy and Security.
- Can support recover my PIN?
- No. That is the tradeoff of a vault that cannot be reset by email.
