Minecraft account

How to make a Minecraft account (Java and Bedrock)

Minecraft no longer uses a separate Mojang website password for new players. You create a Microsoft account, buy or claim the edition you need (Java, Bedrock, or both), then launch the game. LoginScout is for saving that Microsoft login — not for cracked launchers or bought Minecraft accounts.

How to make a Minecraft account

  1. Step 1

    Create a Microsoft account

Go to account.microsoft.com or the official Minecraft / Xbox sign-in and choose Create account. Use an email you control, a strong password, and a date of birth that is actually yours (Microsoft typically requires 13+ for a standard account).

  2. Step 2

Verify the email and add extra security

Confirm the Microsoft message. Turn on two-step verification. Save backup codes in LoginScout so a lost phone is not a locked Minecraft library.

  3. Step 3

Get Minecraft from Microsoft — not a random launcher

Use minecraft.net or the Microsoft Store / Xbox for Bedrock, and the official Minecraft Launcher for Java. Cracked clients and “free Minecraft account” lists are stolen or malware.

  4. Step 4

    Pick Java, Bedrock, or both

Java is the PC edition with most community servers and mods. Bedrock is consoles, mobile, Windows Bedrock, and Realms cross-play with those. Buy the edition your friends actually play.

  5. Step 5

Set a gamertag / Java username

Xbox gamertag is the Bedrock name. Java profile name is set in the launcher after Microsoft sign-in. Put both on the vault card if you use both editions.

  6. Step 6

    Store the login in LoginScout

Save Microsoft email, password, 2FA, gamertag, and which edition you own. Temp mail is a weak recovery story for a game you will still play in five years — use it only for a throwaway Microsoft ID you own, if Microsoft even accepts the domain.

Keep the Microsoft login after you sign up

Microsoft is the account

Java Edition, Bedrock on PC, Xbox, and most mobile/console editions sign in with a Microsoft / Xbox network identity. Lose that login and you lose Realms, Marketplace, and the library.

Java and Bedrock are licenses, not two websites

You do not make a “Java account” and a “Bedrock account” as two emails unless you want two Microsoft IDs. One Microsoft account can own both editions if you buy them that way.

Kids need a family setup, not a fake birthday

Microsoft Family Safety and Minecraft’s age tools exist for a reason. Do not use this page to invent an adult account for a child.

Not a Minecraft account shop

LoginScout does not sell ranks, Hypixel stats, Realms, or cracked logins. You create the Microsoft account. We store it.

There is no new “Mojang account” for most players

Older players migrated Mojang logins to Microsoft. New signups start as Microsoft accounts. If someone is selling a “Mojang Minecraft account,” treat it as a stolen or unmigrated login.

Education Edition, Minecraft Earth leftovers, and China-edition clients are different products. This page is Java and Bedrock on Microsoft’s consumer stores.

Server passwords (Hypixel is free; others may whitelist) are notes — not a second Minecraft website account.

Age, family accounts, and what not to do

Follow Microsoft’s age gate. Under-13 accounts belong in a Microsoft family with a parent, not a burner email on an adult profile.

Do not buy Minecraft accounts, share one Microsoft login with a whole Discord, or use cracked launchers. Those get locked, and they are how vaults get stuffed with credentials you do not own.

LoginScout will not generate Microsoft accounts or restore a banned Hypixel profile. It keeps the login you created.

After you can click Play

The details you will lose later are the Microsoft email, the Xbox gamertag, whether Java is on this PC, and the authenticator device. That belongs on one library card.

Optional disposable email or a burner number only help if you are creating a Microsoft ID you own and the form still accepts them. The account you actually play on should use a real inbox.

Questions people ask

How do I make a Minecraft account?
Create a Microsoft account, verify email, enable two-step verification, then buy or install Java and/or Bedrock from official Microsoft / Minecraft stores. LoginScout stores that login; it does not sell or generate Minecraft accounts.
Do I need different accounts for Java and Bedrock?
No. One Microsoft account can own both licenses. You still choose which edition to launch. Two Microsoft IDs only make sense if you truly want two separate libraries.
Can I still make a Mojang account?
New players should not expect a standalone Mojang password. Microsoft sign-in is the current path. Migrate any leftover Mojang login through Mojang/Microsoft’s official tools, not a third-party vault.
Can I use a temporary email?
Only if Microsoft accepts the domain. Account recovery on a public 10-minute inbox is how people lose Realms. If this is the account you play on, use a real inbox and save it in the vault.
Does LoginScout give out free Minecraft accounts?
No. No cracked logins, no Hypixel ranks, no shared Microsoft IDs. You create the account at Microsoft and optionally store it here.
